MICE (pronounced "mice") Tourism is a specialized, high-value segment of the tourism industry that revolves around business-related travel. The acronym stands for:

1. M – Meetings This refers to corporate or organizational gatherings convened to achieve a specific objective. These events are typically smaller in scale than conferences and are often internal to a single company.

  • Examples: Board meetings, strategic planning sessions, sales kick-offs, management meetings, training workshops, and team-building events.

  • Purpose: Discussion, planning, training, and internal alignment.

2. I – Incentives This is a unique component of MICE that functions as a motivational tool or reward. Companies offer incentive trips to top-performing employees, partners, or clients. While it's a business reward, the trip itself is heavily focused on leisure and luxury experiences.

  • Examples: An all-expenses-paid luxury trip to a resort for the top sales team, a cruise for high-value clients, or an exotic travel experience for achieving a company-wide goal.

  • Purpose: To motivate, reward, and build loyalty among employees or partners.
